Peters Valley Crafts Center

Five years after teetering on the brink of closure, Peters Valley Craft Center in Sussex County seems to have made a full turnaround. The craft village was having a budget shortfall this year due to state budget cuts for the arts, but supporters rushed in to fill the gap. The center, now in it’s third decade, is preparing a long-range plan to restore its various buildings. (Video by John O’Boyle)

Carla Anderson and Kathleen O’Malley are the eccentric owners of Balance Salon and World of Style Vintage, which share a space in Jersey City. Part hair salon, part art gallery, part vintage clothing store, with a mini-bar thrown in, their shop makes for a unique and eclectic experience. The two are now creating their own reality show.
