Morris County held it’s 7th annual September 11 memorial ceremony on Sunday. Boonton native and New York City firefighter John Fila spoke to the crowd about his experiences during and since the terrorist atttack. Thomas McFarland, a 59-year-old dentist from Pennsylvania, has been charged with dumping the needles and other medical-type waste that washed up on the beach in Avalon, NJ during the last week of August. Five years after teetering on the brink of closure, Peters Valley Craft Center in Sussex County seems to have made a full turnaround. The craft village was having a budget shortfall this year due to state budget cuts for the arts, but supporters rushed in to fill the gap. The center, now in it’s third decade, is preparing a long-range plan to restore its various buildings. (Video by John O’Boyle)
